Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Academic and Research
Programs in the Academic Advancement Program (AAP) at UCLA, the Associate
Director (payroll title of Academic Administrator) is responsible for
coordinating the administrative and daily functions of direct student
services offered in Graduate Mentoring and Research Programs (GMRP) and Peer
Learning. The Associate Director is the primary manager and advisor of the
Humanities and Social Science Peer Learning Lab, Graduate Mentoring, and the
following GMRP cohort-based research programs: Arts Initiative, Community
Development and Social Justice, Educators for Tomorrow and UndocuBruins
Research Programs. The Associate Director also works with faculty and the
Director to organize and execute events and programming that supports
academic and research experiences for AAP students that facilitate
collaborative learning, academic success, graduation, and preparation for
graduate and professional school.  The Associate Director will also teach an
undergraduate course during the summer for the AAP Freshman/Transfer Summer
Program. Some grant writing and program assessment experience is preferred.

Position remains open until filled

This is a 100% time (full-time) position, with a projected July 1, 2015
start date.

A Ph.D. is required; Ph.D. in the Humanities or Social Sciences highly
preferred.  Primary qualifications for the position include: demonstrated
capacity for leadership, university experience working with AAP-type
programs, strong administrative and excellent interpersonal skills, as well
as counseling and teaching experience with economically or educationally
disadvantaged populations at the university level. Salary is commensurate
with qualifications and experience.  Hiring salary range is $60,024 to
$66,096/year.
