He or she will bring a passion for science and a deep commitment to engaging members of the genetics community. He or she will keep current on developments in science and communications, thinking strategically and proactively on how to best serve members and potential members using both existing and new communications platforms.

The Communications and Engagement Manager will

Interested individuals should apply with a letter outlining qualifications and interest in the position, curriculum vitae, and a brief portfolio highlighting relevant writing and/or communications experience.

About the Society

Founded in 1931, the Genetics Society of America (GSA) is the professional scientific society for genetics researchers and educators. Its more than 5,000 members work to advance knowledge in the basic mechanisms of inheritance, from the molecular to the population level. GSA is dedicated to promoting research in genetics and to facilitating communication among geneticists worldwide through its conferences, including annual and biennial meetings that focus on the genetics of key model organisms, including C. elegans, Drosophila, fungi, mice, yeast, and zebrafish. GSA publishes two scholarly journals for the dissemination of original research: GENETICS, which has published seminal research articles in the field since 1916, and G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics, an open-access journal launched in 2011 for high quality foundational research.
