Puerto Rican scientist wins prestigious biology research award.

Doctoral student Walter Fischler of Professor Kristin Scott's lab is the recipient of a Weintraub award for 2009. The Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award recognizes outstanding achievement during graduate studies in the biological sciences. Walter Fischler is completing his degree in molecular and cell biology at UC Berkeley.
