Old San Juan usually evokes touristical, cultural, historical and social images. However, the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico has organized an ecological route that shows us the variety of the fauna and the flora of the historical city.

Budget cut could desestabilize the UPR

With the UPR formula, that would give the University a 9.6% of the average Government’s income of the previous two years, stalled by the Legislature, the first educational institution of the country faces a possible crisis that would affect the academic offer, research, cultural programs, among other things.

The University of Puerto Rico faces a budget cut, because the Government decided to stop a formula that would have given the institution a $37 million increase in next year's budget. This formula is part of the University's "fiscal autonomy". Is this yet another consequence of a highly politicized and bureaucratic system? What is your opinion on this subject?
