As a young investigator in biomedical research who is getting ready to complete her Ph.D., I have been looking back at my journey in science and would like to share some insights. By sharing my experience, I hope to support and encourage anyone considering a career in science; it is a long journey but anything is possible with passion, hard work, and perseverance.

We are writing to inform you of a new NIH-supported Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY). The program is designed to provide a year‑long intensive laboratory based research experience to underrepresented minority college graduates who are interested in pursuing training in a research intensive PhD or MD-PhD program but lack sufficient research experience to be competitive in top programs.
