Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
Hello! My name is Almarely Berrios and I am a PhD-Psy Clinical Psychology student at Ponce Health Sciences University. I’m interested in working with neuroscience, neuropsychology and working memory.
At the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey I worked with Building Research Infrastructure and Capacity (BRIC) and the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research in the UPR Cayey. I worked with Dr. Mayteé Cruz researching with epidemiological models of infectious diseases, with Dr. Mariluz Franco researching undergraduate education and poverty; focused on reflections on the access and retention of undergraduate/learners with socio-economic disadvantage, and with Dr. Ricardo Chiesa researching anxiety related behavior induced by ethanol on Drosophila Melanogaster.
At the University of Puerto Rico at the Medical Sciences campus I worked with Dr. Emma Fernandez creating and designing 3D biological medical models, as well as using programs such as Cura and Repetier Host.
At the VA Caribbean Healthcare Systems in San Juan I worked with Dr. Lissette Jimenez exploring the relationship between sleep apnea and strokes in veteran patients, where I used the Epworth Scale questionnaire.
