Chemist specialized in the identification and charaterization of artist materials their degradation, and biodeterioration. Experience on a wide range of non-invasive and non-destructive analytical techniques, as well as in-situ physico-chemical analysis of traditional and contemporary artworks. Trained in conservation of objects, paintings and painted cultural artefacts. I have participated in various publications and made various presetantions about my researchs at international seminars and conferences.
Characterization of the metal soaps protrusions in Georgia O'Keeffe oil paintings. This project is a collaboration between The Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts (CSSA) at Northwestern University and the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, NM.
Study the palette of Puerto Rican artists from 18th to 20th centuries. Accomplishments: Characterization of the materials by means of MA-XRF, HSI in situ analysis complemented with FTIR, SEN-EDX, Raman and HSI microscopy.
