Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am currently a Graduate Research Scientist in the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) Program at The Ohio State University.
During my undergraduate studies, I carried out research at the University of Puerto Rico's Rio Piedras campus in Dr. Zomary Flores' lab; Purdue University in Dr. Jason Cannon's lab; and the Columbia University Medical Center in Dr. Crystal Fuller's lab.
My research interests lie within the real of Infectious Diseases, specifically vector-borne diseases. My research project is focused on the obligatory intracellular bacteria, Ehrlichia chaffeensis (causative agent of Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis and transmitted by the lone-star tick).
