The 2010 Yeast Genetics and Molecular Biology Meeting will be held July 27 " August 1, 2010 at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.The 2010 Meeting promises to be outstanding. Highlights include a symposium featuring Paul Nurse and Lee Hartwell (who shared the Nobel Prize in 2001) and Marc Garneau (Canadian Astronaut and member of Parliament), a lecture by Jack Szostak (2009 Nobel Prize winner), a series of talks by this year"s distinguished group of award winners, and a banquet at the world renowned Museum of Anthropology.The Yeast Meeting remains the premier meeting for students, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, and principal investigators studying various aspects of eukaryotic biology in yeast. The UBC campus venue is an ideal and affordable setting for this meeting that will enhance the great science, and promote lots of interaction, discussion, scientific exchange, new collaborations, and fun. Vancouver is a dynamic, multicultural city set in a spectacular natural environment.We are grateful to the Institute of Genetics (Canadian Institutes for Health Research), the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, the University of British Columbia, Singer Instruments, and the Genetics Society of America for their generous support of the meeting.The Conference will begin on Tuesday evening, July 27 with an opening session from 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM at the Chan Centre, followed by a social from 9:30 PM until 11:30 PM at the Chan Centre and UBC rose garden.
