The Physics & Electronics Department at The University of Puerto Rico – Humacao Campus seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will teach courses in the department and is expected to have a strong research program in his/her area of expertise.
PhD in Astronomy or Astrophysics, Post-Doctoral Experience Preferred.
Demonstrated evidence of potential for excellent teaching and scholarship.
Capable of coordinating activities at the Humacao University Observatory.
Ability to do research involving undergraduates: collaborative research and proposal writing skills needed.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission.
The Department of Physics & Electronics offers a major in Applied Physics (Electronics). Recognized by the American Institute of Physics as one of the top undergraduate Departments with the largest number of degrees conferred to Hispanics.
