Please join the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda and Political Parity at the LatinasRepresent launch next Wednesday, February 6th in Denver, Colorado. At the event you can:

• Hear the findings of a 14-city, 9-state research effort looking at the barriers and opportunities related to Latinas running for office, followed by a panel of national and local leaders who'll share their perspectives,
• Participate in a "Colorado Solutions Workshop" to brainstorm around what it will take to improve Latino underrepresentation in public service leadership, and
• Join in a "Young Latinas Forum" designed to help Latina students and young professionals refine their strategies for moving forward in their leadership development.

(1) 9:30 - 11:00 A.M. NATIONAL LAUNCH RSVP: bit.ly/9denver

After a short welcome from Amb. Swanee Hunt (Chair of Political Parity) and Hector Sanchez (Chair of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda), Marni Allen (Director of Political Parity) will share our research findings. Rep. Crisanta Duran, Cristóbal Alex (President of Latino Victory Foundation), Joelle Martinez (Founder of Colorado Latino Forum), and Rep. Monica Youngblood (invited) will then reflect on the findings and offer solutions for us to tackle Latina's underrepresentation in elected office.

(2) NOON-2:30 P.M. COLORADO SOLUTIONS WORKSHOP RSVP: bit.ly/12denver

In this workshop session we’ll identify local and statewide resources to support Latina candidates and strategize how to leverage these resources to raise Latinas’ numbers in public office. Currently, Colorado has no Latinas in its Congressional delegation or holding statewide elective office. Only four Latinas serve as state representatives, and only two as state senators.

(3) 3:00-5:00 P.M. YOUNG LATINAS FORUM --> RSVP: bit.ly/3denver

In the afternoon event with Nevada Assemblywoman Lucy Flores and NHLA's Latino Appointment Program Director, Melody Gonzales, we’ll examine opportunities for young Latinas to engage in politics, connect with mentors, and assume positions of leadership in their communities. All attendees will participate in small breakout groups facilitated by Latina leaders–from elected officials to nonprofit program directors– to craft and share their public narratives and personal leadership goals.
