Want to do biomedical research training at NIH? The Intramural Research Program is the internal research arm of the NIH. Our scientists, trainees, and fellows work in a collaborative research environment using cutting-edge tools to perform interdisciplinary research from the bench to the bedside. We’d like to invite you to learn about training opportunities in the NIH Intramural Research Program for college students, graduate/professional school students, and recent doctoral degree holders.
Postbac Program
Recent college graduates planning to apply to graduate or professional school can spend one or two years doing full-time research and preparing for the next step in their career. All postbacs have access to career, professional, and well-being offerings, including professional, medical and/or graduate school advising. The application is open all year; applicants are selected on a rolling basis.
