Post-doctoral Scholar Program

At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center we believe that empowering promising young scientists will lead to breakthrough discoveries in our fight against cancer. The Roswell Park Alliance Scholars Program seeks to accomplish this by providing scientists who have recently graduated or will soon graduate with an M.D. or Ph.D. degree the opportunity to design and implement their own postdoctoral training experience. We seek applicants who have a compelling vision for the cancer research program they want to develop and the passion to build an independent career in cancer research. Roswell Park Alliance Scholars select their own mentoring team from among current Roswell faculty who are best suited to help realize this vision.

With your passion and our commitment to engaged mentoring, we anticipate Roswell Park Alliance Scholars will rapidly build their research programs and secure extramural fellowships and/or grants. Successful Scholars will have the opportunity to transition directly into a Roswell Park faculty position, putting them on a fast-track for developing their independent scientific careers.

In addition to traditional support provided by the faculty mentor(s) of their choosing, scholars will receive financial support from the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation for up to three years at $88,000 per year. This funding is flexible and can be used to support salary up to an initial rate of $65,000 per year, research, and other career development activities.
