Francisco J. Sánchez-Rivera obtuvo su bachillerato en Microbiología de la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Mayagüez (UPRM) y su doctorado en Biología del Instituto de Tecnología de Massachusetts (MIT). Su trabajo en el laboratorio de Tyler Jacks en MIT fue de los primeros en demostrar la utilidad del sistema de ingeniería genética CRISPR-Cas9 para interrogar mutaciones asociadas con cáncer in vivo. Francisco J. Sánchez-Rivera received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) and his PhD in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
