I am a licensed Professional Engineer with a BS and PhD in Chemical Engineering. After my PhD I transitioned into health and diagnostics of the cardiovascular system. I am currently conducting post doctoral research in the University of Florence (Italy), with the financial assistance of the International Whitaker Scholars Foundation, to study the non invasive assessment of cardiac fluid dynamics.
During my undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayageuz Campus, I did various summer internships in the field of pharmaceutical development and biotechnology. Among the most impacting experiences where when I worked on the development of a bio sensor, for protein membrane interaction, in Osaka University (Japan) and on controlled drug release tablets at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Global R&D (CT, USA). These experiences led me to pursue a higher academic degree and focus my research efforts in the field of bioengineering.
