My primary interest is in biogerontology; more specifically, my research mostly focuses on the molecular and genetic factors involved in determining the maximum longevity differences between closely related species and in humans. Previously, I have worked on aging in naked mole rats and rodents with the Gorbunova-Seluanov Lab at the University of Rochester; and in Peto's Paradox and Gene Duplication in elephants, bats, and whales in the Lynch Lab at the University of Chicago. Currently studying the evolution of aging and genetics of genome stability in mice and bats using comparative functional genomics and single cell technologies in the Sudmant Lab at the University of California - Berkeley.
