Experienced microbiologist and molecular scientist with a proven track record in infectious diseases, antibiotic susceptibility, food safety, next-generation sequencing, bacterial and cell culture, with a strong emphasis on quality-driven research and efficient laboratory operations.
With a Ph.D. focused on the characterization and virulence of Salmonella and other foodborne pathogens (Bacillus, Listeria, E. coli), I bring deep technical expertise and a sharp eye for data integrity and process improvement. My postdoctoral work expanded into the One Health space, applying molecular techniques to study zoonotic pathogens across wildlife and agricultural systems. At the CDC, I supported genomic surveillance in the Meningitis and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch, contributing to Whole Genome Sequencing pipelines and successfully establishing Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing infrastructure—prioritizing accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
Currently, I serve as a Senior Research Scientist leading efforts in SARS-CoV-2 genomic characterization, managing complex projects where efficiency, team coordination, and methodological rigor are essential.
I am passionate about advancing public health through smart, streamlined, and high-quality science—and I bring that mindset into every team I work with. I also value effective communication and mentorship, and regularly engage in outreach to bridge science and society.
