Dra. Maria Del Mar Rodríguez Berríos is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with extensive training, and expertise in Clinical Research, Family Medicine, and advanced Integrative medical modalities, including Certified in Culinary Medicine at Harvard. Her commitment is to serve individuals and communities through compassionate, culturally-appropriate, and integrative care.
She has experience in biomedical and clinical research including digestive microbiology (microbiome), cardiometabolic conditions, health disparities, health promotion, and Integrative Medicine. At her most recent collaboration at the University of Puerto Rico- Medical Sciences Campus, she served as a Co-Investigator and Interventionist for the Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles, also known as Lifestyle Medicine Interventionist. She provided educational interventions to many participants on clinical nutrition, stress resiliency and Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM). Dra. María Del Mar became the first and only licensed Naturopathic Doctor to be appointed by the institution and implementing these innovative integrative strategies, which inspired many. Part of her CIM work was published by the local Puerto Rico Sciences Journal.
Soon after this experience, she earned a multiyear Postdoctoral Fellowship focused on Integrative Medicine and Health Disparities Research in Boston, Massachusetts. She combined her research efforts with her participation at Harvard Medical School- Lifestyle and Integrative Medicine forums. She was a Susan G. Komen and NIH grants awardee, and Certified Fellow in Clinical Research and Translational Sciences. She was the first Naturopathic Physician and Puerto Rican to even been admitted and complete these programs. Her publications are available on Google Scholar, and upon request.
