My research areas are in water quality and quantitative microbial risk assessment. My projects include understanding the pathogen and fecal indicator dynamics in mixed used watersheds including both urban and agricultural impacts. I am also investigating the factors affecting the transport and persistence of fecal microorganisms in recreational waters, including inputs to model their behavior in the environment and application of source tracking markers. My projects have included work in Luquillo, Boqueron, and Culebra Beaches.
