I was born in Puerto Rico. I am currently a research scientist in the areas of plasma astrophysics with the Laboratory for Solar and Space Physics at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt Maryland. I am the first puertorrican astrophysicist at NASA. I have been doing scientific research for more than 25 years with over 80 publications in national and international scientific journals. I have given many lectures, conferences and presentations in many national and international conferences. I hold academic adjoint visiting positions with the Universidad de Alcala de Henares in Madrid (Spain) and the Universidad de Concepcion in Concepcion (Chile). I have a Bachelor (1970) and Master (1972) degrees in Physics from the Universidad de Puerto Rico (RUM) and a PhD (1980) degree in Physics from MIT. I am currently engaged in reserach in the areas of basic plasma physics, plasma kinetic theory, magnetohydrodynamics. solar and space physics. I am a member of the American Physical Society (APS), the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Latin American Association in Space and Geophysics (ALAGE).
