La Universidad de Harvard, FDI Clinical Research, y organizaciones agricolas de la isla estan completando un programa piloto de distribucion de alimentos a residentes del area metropolitana con inseguridad alimentaria. Necesitamos voluntari@s que nos ayuden a contactar participantes para confirmar la fecha de distribucion, ayudar con la distribucion en las clinicas (en Rio Piedras y en Loiza) una vez al mes, y entrando datos.

The Aguadilla Campus of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico is the only institution in Puerto Rico that will be part of a collaborative effort that will establish an Integrated Biology Institute focused on viruses. Together with researchers from four institutions in Arkansas and Maine and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), viral interactions and mechanisms at all levels of life will be studied.

The NCI T32 in Translational Genomics and Precision Medicine in Cancer (TGP) training program invites applicants for its postdoctoral training program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.  The T32 program was developed in response to a new revolution of Big Data and the need for scientists to be trained in the discovery, integration and interpretation of translational genomics for precision medicine.

"The Medical Sciences Campus congratulates Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet for being the recipient of the“ Faces of Bioscience in Puerto Rico 2021 ”award. Ciencia Puerto Rico joins the congratulations of this scientific leader. Dr. Emma Fernández Repollet She is Professor at the School of Medicine and Director of the Collaborative Center on Health Disparities at the Medical Sciences Campus. The distinction was awarded by the Puerto Rico Bio Alliance as part of the Annual Bioscience Celebration at the official ceremony and commemorative events. of the Celebration of Bioscience Month 2021. These events were held on October 12, 2021 at the Jaime Benitez-Rexach Amphitheater of the University of PR Medical Sciences Campus.

The Department of Biology of the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao (UPRH) announces the virtual celebration of the 18th edition of Bioscience Week under the slogan Bioscience: Innovation that Works! The official week of the event at the national level is from October 11 to 15, but it will continue with different regional activities aimed at students and various sectors of the scientific community throughout the month.
