San Juan, Puerto Rico, 23 de enero de 2013 – Mediante un acuerdo colaborativo entre El Capítulo de la Sociedad de Ingenieros Profesionales Hispanos de la Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico (SHPE PUPR) y la organización sin fines de lucro Milset Caribe, el próximo 1 de marzo se llevará a cabo la Primera Feria MCa en Puerto Rico.

Through a collaboration agreement between the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico's (UPPR) Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the non-profit Milset Caribe, the UPPR will host the first MCa Fair in Puerto Rico on March 1st, 2013.

Computers are ubiquitous in modern life and this is the era of Big Data. Thus one of the challenges Puerto Rico faces as a society is to promote the new literacy of the 21st century: knowing how read, think and write in our native language, in English and in computer programming languages. This will not only result in cultural and economic benefits but it will help us be competitive in the global arena.

Government Fellows Program - Professionals - electrical engineering and associated branches (IEEE)

The IEEE-USA has begun soliciting applications for its 2013-2014 Government Fellows Program.  Each year, IEEE-USA sponsors government fellowships for three qualified IEEE members.  The fellows – chosen by the IEEE-USA Government Fellows Committee and confirmed by the IEEE-USA Board – spend a year in Washington serving as advisers to the U.S. Congress or to key U.S. Department of State decision-makers.
