Con la participación de sobre 300 estudiantes de escuela superior, de varios municipios en la Isla, la Universidad Metropolitana, del Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez, celebró el evento Día de las Ciencias: El cambio climático global.

Esta actividad tenía como propósito concienciar a los jóvenes preuniversitarios sobre la problemática de este fenómeno causado por la actividad humana o por los procesos naturales de la Tierra y el Sistema Solar.

A local teacher from Colegio San Conrado will partner with a physiologist from Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences to help students explore physiology, the study of how living things work, during PhUn (Physiology Understanding) Week, which begins November 5.

Los estudiantes de ciencias biomédicas del Recinto de Ciencias Médicas (RCM) de la Universidad de Puerto Rico (UPR), buscan despertar en la comunidad escolar el interés por el estudio de las ciencias como una carrera profesional.  Para cimplir ese objetivo, realizan actividades con estudiantes que asisten a las escuelas elementales, intermedias y superiores del País.

The National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance) has established the Alliance/Merck Ciencia (Science) Hispanic Scholars Program, a partnership to improve Hispanic student access to higher education and degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM. This program is being supported by The Merck Company Foundation and the Merck Institute for Science Education (MISE.

The American Physical Society Minority Scholarship helps increase the number of under-represented minorities obtaining degrees in physics.  The scholarship  provides funding and mentoring to minority physics students, helping them  enhance their education and for successfully prepare for a variety of   careers. Any African-American, Hispanic American, or Native American U.S.
