The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust  (PRSTRT) announced the establishment of the Vector Control Unit of Puerto Rico after receiving official announcement of the Center for Diseases Control & Prevention (CDC) for a collaborative agreement for this purpose. Such collaborative agreement will give the Trust a grant to create, manage and operate this unit.

Buenos días,

 

El 1 de octubre de 2016, abre la Solicitud Gratuita de Ayuda Federal para Estudiantes (FAFSA). Es la primera vez que hacen disponible la FAFSA en esta fecha. Los estudiantes ya no tendrán que esperar a enero para comenzar a llenar la FAFSA. Además, podrán utilizar la planilla de 2015, en vez de la de 2016.

During my PhD, I really missed being close to my family in Orocovis and interacting with other Puerto Ricans that also wanted to contribute ideas to the scientific development of the island. I wasn’t sure where to start so I decided to invite Dr. Daniel Colón Ramos, a professor at Yale University, to offer a seminar to students and professors of my program at Brandeis University. Daniel agreed, and without realizing it, I got involved in one of the most rewarding projects of my professional life.

Dr. Daniel Colón Ramos recieved an award from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). He was one of 84 scientists to receive the award from a pool of 1400 candidates.
