The emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria is one of the greatest threats to human health in the 21st century. Among these bacteria, enterococci are one of the most challenging organisms in clinical settings. This ASM Conference will cover enterococcal genomics, pathogenesis of enterococcal infections, structure, evolution and transfer of extrachromosomal elements in enterococci, dynamics of enterococcal resistance determinants, novel mechanisms of resistance, and metabolism and ecology of enterococci.
