-The Epidemiological update of metabolic syndrome &
obesity in the Puerto Rican community.
- Evaluation of physiopathological changes in obesity,
role of hyperglycemia, inflammation, lipid tissue as an
inflammatory organ.
-The role of the Kidney in the disease.
- Dialog towards a comprehensive approach to obesity
and related diseases.

The American Journal of Physiology
and of Hypertension, published by the American Heart
Association.
Public Health Speaker: Nadine Gracia, MD, MSCE, Acting
Director of the Office of Minority
Health at the US Department of Health and Human

the First Lady on childhood obesity.
