The College of Engenireeng of Mayagüez (RUM) of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), received a donation of $ 130 thousand granted by the Chevron company, which will be used to renovate laboratories, acquire equipment and invest in the necessary infrastructure for the development of innovative projects.

The official announcement of the grant was made recently in a virtual meeting attended by several executives of the multinational energy corporation, as well as doctors Agustín Rullán Toro, rector of the RUM, and Bienvenido Vélez Rivera, Dean of Engineering, accompanied by the directors of the academic departments of that Faculty that will benefit from the gift. This is the second consecutive year that the company has granted financial aid, which in 2019 amounted to $ 150 thousand, equally distributed in the renovation of several research facilities and study rooms, and also in the purchase of material, devices, and software.
