“According to the plan, between March and May, the blueprints and permissions for the project should be finished. The auction for contractors will be carried out in June, and works will begin in August. The Capacete Martin company will be responsible for the design development.”
The plant will consist of a building of approximately 30.000 square feet that will have facilities for research on the improvement of biotechnological processes, as well as for training students of the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez and other universities.
“In addition, it will re-train employees from companies that are moving their business towards biotechnological processes. This project is a collaboration of the UPR and the biotechnology industry established in the Island.”
