“We chose Every Swing Counts as this year’s theme because every donation counts. There are no small contributions. Every contribution has allowed us to do many good things for our communities. That’s why we are so grateful for all the support we receive,” said Giovanna Ramírez de Arellano, interim president of Liberty Foundation. “Year after year, we’ve seen the great difference each contribution makes and how, together, we achieve a significant impact on the lives of underserved communities.”
The donation was presented during the tournament’s Puerto Rican Swing dinner, which took place recently in Río Grande and was part of a series of events organized for sponsors, partners, and representatives of the organizations.
“For the nonprofit sector, 2025 has been especially difficult. From a decrease in funds raised through their own initiatives to the partial or even total loss of government support, many organizations have been pushed to the limit,” said Yadira Valdivia, executive director of Liberty Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, these organizations can continue opening doors and creating opportunities in the areas of education, social welfare and health, arts, and environmental protection.”
The Foundation will continue supporting multiple nonprofit organizations throughout the year with financial contributions and volunteer work. Liberty has been supporting community organizations in Puerto Rico since 1996, when it donated $19,000 to Hogar San José in Luquillo. Since then, Liberty and Liberty Foundation have donated more than $8 million to nearly 100 organizations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, including this year’s golf tournament donation.
