Aramus guarauna, also known as limpkin, carrao, courlan, and crying bird, was made famous in the book Once in Puerto Rico. In 1930 was considered extinct, however in 2012 Carlos Laboy saw several of this bird in Canovanas. Now it has also been seen in Loiza and Luquillo.
