The Geology Department of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Mayagüez Campus (RUM) announced the opening of the Puerto Rico Landslide Mitigation Office, which will continue the research work and community outreach programs of the former SLIDES PR project. The objective of the new office is to study and better understand the landslide phenomenon on the island and to provide valuable information to the public on the dangers of landslides.

Summer is the season of vacation, beach, sun and sand... for some people, but for others it is the perfect time to advance their goals. Priscilla, Chloe and Christina, have taken advantage of this summer season and turned it into the ideal period to get closer to their professional dreams.

And in this eagerness, the Molecular Center-UPR houses the aspirations of these three university students who, after emerging victorious from a shortlist of some 300 applicants, will now define their professional path in pharmacology.
