El Departamento de Energía de los Estados Unidos aprobó el financiamiento de un Consorcio formado por universidades hispanas y laboratorios nacionales liderado por el Puerto Rico Energy Center (PREC) de la Universidad de Turabo.
The US Department of Energy will fund the creation of a consortium of universities: Universidad del Turabo, University of New México, University of Texas at El Paso, Miami Dade College, UNiversity of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, Sandia National Laboratory and National Energy Technology Laboratory.
