Request for Applications: Pediatric Networks for the Human Cell Atlas RFA

Applications Due:
March 30th by 5 p.m. Pacific Time

Children are less commonly represented in emerging tissue atlases such as the Human Cell Atlas (HCA), yet this data is critically important for understanding the cellular composition and maturation of organs during childhood. The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invites applications for its new Pediatric Networks for the Human Cell Atlas Request for Applications (RFA), focused on supporting collaborative teams of researchers to contribute healthy, single-cell reference data from pediatric tissue samples to the HCA. We strongly encourage the majority of samples to be from donors who are part of underrepresented communities, with particular emphasis on understudied ancestries.

This RFA is intended to support established teams as well as new collaborations, including international collaborations, and we welcome proposals that will make significant contributions toward single-cell reference data for the community of patients, clinicians, and researchers engaged in pediatric research. Teams should consist of at least three and up to 10 principal investigators, including at least one computational biologist or data scientist, one pediatrician actively engaged in clinical care, and one expert in single-cell biology. Community-engaged researchers should be involved in the collaboration to help provide, promote, and build culturally competent connections with the research participants and members of their community. Learn more and apply.
