Research technician position available in the Sullivan Lab at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Description of Work: Position available for a full-time Research Technician interested in projects related to psychiatric genetics and genomics. The technician will dedicate the majority of their time to assisting the faculty and the laboratory manager with molecular biology and genetics research including DNA and RNA isolation and purification, DNA amplification, various functional genomics assays, and library preparation for high-throughput sequencing, as well as animal handling, including mouse tissue dissections. The technician will also assist the lab manager with organizing the lab as well as ordering reagents, supplies, and equipment maintenance. Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a life science or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with mice.
