The Kavli Institute for Neuroscience and the Department of Neuroscience at Yale University have an open research track faculty position for a scientist to provide critical strategic support to their scientific operations. The individual will work closely with the faculty and administration to drive new efforts and support ongoing initiatives to further the Kavli Institute’s and Department’s core values of research excellence, innovation and diversity. The candidate will be embedded in a rich intellectual environment with a very strong and collaborative neuroscience research community, whose focus spans from molecular and cellular neuroscience to system and cognitive neuroscience.

We seek an individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to develop activities and resources that will support research and will enhance diversity, mentorship, and professional development. The applicant will strategically manage the activities of the Kavli Institute for Neuroscience, including organization of workshops and symposia, grant-making and community building efforts. He/she/they will help in the development of training and instrumentation grants, will work closely with new faculty to provide strategic guidance for their research programs and may assist with preparation and management of investigator-led research proposals. The individual will also assist with matters concerning core facilities and laboratory infrastructure.

The applicant, who will be hired in a Research Track position, should have a doctoral degree in a biological discipline, with preference for neuroscience. Postdoctoral research experience and/or experience as an independent investigator is required. Research management experience is a plus. Outstanding interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for working with others, drive to learn and passion for science are required. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, innovative, and enjoy working in a diverse, dynamic, and intellectually stimulating environment. The candidate will work with the guidance of the Chair of the Department of Neuroscience/Director of the Kavli Institute but must be able to operate independently.
