Apply for “Our Future Is Science” (OFIS) a new initiative by the Aspen Institute Science & Society Program in partnership with Coda Societies, designed to position societally minded youth as leaders and innovators who will push science forward in the 21st century. Jylana L. Sheats, Ph.D., MPH, recently joined the Aspen Institute as a Civic Science Fellow and leader of the program, which is generously supported by Genentech, the Manitou Fund, the Rita Allen Foundation, 3M, and Lyda Hill Philanthropies.

OFIS features an extracurricular mentorship forum in which high-school studentsand STEM graduate students explore together the links between science and social justice. Mentees and mentors will be compensated with a stipend for their participation.

Applications are due Thursday, October 28. Please share this opportunity with your networks, especially parents of high-school students and STEM graduate students.
