HIV stigma affects treatment

On this Wednesday, December 1st, 2010, World AIDS Day, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization will celebrate the International Conference on Stigma, to educate health care professionals on how stigma can affect the treatment of HIV patients and how to avoid it. The conference will be held at Howard University, in Washington, D.C.

The Association of Physicians treating HIV in Puerto Rico will hold a vigil on December 1st, in front of the Capitol, to raise awareness about HIV treatment, prevention and education.
