The Graduate School of Public Health from the Medical Science Campus at the University of Puerto Rico will celebrate the V Puertorrican Conference on Public Health. This Conference will bring together the principal international researchers and academics with the purpose of discussing the most pressing and diverse topics in public health at a global scale. This event will be held May 2-4, 2016.

The Student Association of the Department of Marine Science from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (AECiM) will celebrate “Marine Science Day” on Saturday, March 12, at the Isla Magueyes in Lajas.

The activity, co-sponsored by the Sea Grant Program of Puerto Rico will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will serve as an Open House to the Department of Marine Science to the general pubic.

With the purpose of transforming the 600 teachers that are participating in the AIRE project into Mentors for Asma; the School of Health Professionals from the Medical Science Campus, the Program for Asma from the Health Department and the Program of Scholar Health from the Department of Education joined forces to develop a seven day training initiative that will impact all educational regions in the Country.

Zika virus cases continue on the rise

The Secretary of the Health Department,  Ana Ríus Armendáriz, confirmed that 40 new cases of Zika virus have been reported this week. Amongst these cases one patient required hospilization and 9 were pregnant women.
