San Juan, PR, April 3, 2016 — The Metropolitan University (UMET) and the Astronomy Society of Puerto Rico (SAPR) invite the general public to enroll in the course titled: "Amateur Astronomy" which will begin next Saturday, April 9 at the UMET in Cupey. This course will consist of four three hour classes given on consecutive Saturdays.

Fifity 11th graders from public high schools around the Island, participated in the program Futuro Científico which was developed by the educational organization EcoExploratorio of the Science Museum of Puerto Rico and the AMGEN Foundation. This program seeks to offer the students a unique experience in STEM disciplines in order to increase their interest towards these careers.

This past weekend was the beginning of the third edition of the I-Corps Puerto Rico program, hosted at the University of Puerto Rico -Mayaguez. 16 teams of innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs will be participating in this program focused on driving the comercialization of innovations through scalable bussiness models.
