Making Astronomy Accessible for the Visually Impaired

A couple of years ago, one of my thesis mentors sought visually impaired scientists working at a major space science agency in the United States. I was surprised when he reported that there were several visually impaired engineers, but almost no visually impaired scientists like me.

NIH Center for Scientific Review Sponsors Two Challenge[dot]Gov Competitions

The National Institutes of Health, Center for Scientific Review, in collaboration with the ACD Diversity Working Group Subcommittee on Peer Review, has announced two America COMPETES Act Challenges. These contests solicit input from the scientific community and other stakeholders to aid our efforts to address the problem of racial disparities in NIH R01 grant funding.
