Convocatoria: Semillas de Triunfo 2023-2024

En el ciclo de 2023-2024, Semillas de Triunfo busca inspirar a 120 niñas de los grados 7mo, 8vo y 9no de escuelas públicas y privadas de Puerto Rico y "Homeschoolers" para tener acceso a mujeres modelos a seguir, explorar carreras en STEM y desarrollar sus destrezas de liderazgo. 

 

 

¿Quién puede solicitar?

Chicas de 7mo, 8vo y 9no grado (y "Homeschoolers") durante el año escolar 2023-2024 en Puerto Rico. ¡Buscamos a estudiantes que quieran conocer más sobre STEM y tener un impacto en su escuela y comunidad!

¿Cuál es el costo? 

Ninguno ¡Es gratis! Las participantes recibirán materiales educativos, apoyo de mentoras y personal de Semillas de Triunfo para completar el Programa, así como las comidas (en actividades presenciales) sin costo alguno.

Semillas de Triunfo: 2022-2023

Nuestras “Semillas de Triunfo” han llevado a cabo diversos proyectos en sus escuelas y comunidades enfocados en su mayoría en la falta de conocimiento sobre la diversidad de carreras STEM y de científicas o ingenieras que sirvan de modelos a seguir. Estos proyectos han logrado un impacto total de más de 18,000 personas. 

Seeds of Success: IF/THEN Edition, a program for girls in STEM kicks off

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce the beginning of the third cycle of the Seeds of Success Program, which seeks to expose middle school girls to the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Last Saturday, August 15, 2020, 121 students in grades 7th through 9th, began their journey to become STEM Ambassadors with a virtual orientation seminar and a leadership workshop. Prior to the seminar, the girls received the program guides and STEM educational materials, such as the paper microscope, Foldscope, brochures and opportunities for students. These materials were donated by about 15 organizations and sent through the postal service.

Faced with a difficult problem, many throw their hands up and say "it is what it is", but instead of problems, a leader sees opportunities. Enerys Pagán, a young Puerto Rican woman who is currently a junior at the Brígida Álvarez Rodríguez Specialized School for Science and Mathematics in the town of Vega Baja, saw a problem in the lack of participation of Puerto Ricans boys and girls in science fairs and she decided to do something about it.
