Friday, Arpil 15, 2016.  Hormigueros, Puerto Rico — More than 300 students attended the 2nd Environmental Gathering where they learned about the importance of protecting the enviornment. This event was organized by the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) and had the participation of state and federal governement agencies as well as other organizations related to environmental protection.

A group of professors at the Graduate School of Public Health of the University of Puerto Rico denounced this morning that several government agencies to express themselves against the construction of a trash incinerator by the company Energy Answers in Arecibo.

The College of Architects and Landscaping Architects of Puerto Rico demanded that the president of the Planification Board, Rubén Flores Marzán, does not allow a proposal to change the protection status of 60 acres within the Guanica Dry Forest Reserve to move forward.
