The Genomics Summer Research for Minorities (GSRM) internship provides a ten-week summer research program for undergraduate students interested in genomics research, personalized medicine and biosciences. The GSRM is funded by an NIH Research Education Program (R25) and supported by the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics.

The Victor M Blanco Fellowships were established by the National Society of Hispanic Physicists to encourage Hispanic students to pursue a degree in physics and astronomy. The program is a partnership between the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO), the Fermi National Laboratory (Fermilab), and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University.

During this summer 90% of the med students at School of Medicine, Medical Sciences Campus (MSC) at the University of Puerto Rico will be participating in summer research internships, 32 students will conduct research at MSC and 58 elsewhere.
