Research in my lab is centered on the implementation of mouse models to investigate the neural correlates of psychiatric diseases associated to fear, stress, and emotional trauma. We focus on the characterizaion of neurophysiological mechanisms in limbic brain regions, such as the  prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, amygdala, and nucleus accumbens. We implement methodologies such as in vivo neuronal recordings, neuropharmacology, viral vector-mediated gene transduction, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence imaging, and optogenetic and chemogenetic manipulations.
