Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I'm Angelic Arzola, a current second-year undergrad from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez. My mayor is computer engineering, and I'm doing a curricular sequence in French :)
Outside of college, I am one of the teacher assistants of the Arecibo Observatory Space Academy, a Sabatine research academy for pre-college students. Additional to this, I'm also co-founder and Vice-President of the UPRM Chapter of "Students for the Exploration and Development of Space" (SEDS).
The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) UPRM Chapter seeks to inspire Puerto Rico's youth to make an impact by pioneering the island's space industry. This is achieved by offering membership to those interested, and providing opportunities (like internships, trips and events) to develop their technical, academic and leadership skills. SEDS-UPRM also wants to enlighten the Puerto Rican community about the country's space industry. This is currently being done by giving Observation Nights for the public, and going to schools as outreach events.
