Adiari Vazquez is an Investment Manager with Caixa Capital’s Venture Capital team. Her focus is on Industrial Tech investments, with sector interests including: Chemistry & Materials, AgTech, Digital Industry, IoT/Big Data/AI, and Smart Energy. Adiari is also an advisor to the European Commission on defining strategies for stimulating industrial innovation, and fostering the development and deployment of industrial technologies. She previously worked as an Environmental Engineer and Consultant in the U.S., engaging in water tech-focused Cleantech projects.
While earning her Ph.D., she spearheaded an interdisciplinary collaboration executed at Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and the U.S. Department of Energy, among others, and discovered novel microbial pathways that aggravate mercury pollution. She received the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship, joining the ranks of Nobel Prize winners, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, and Google co-founder Sergey Brin. She received a B.Sc. in Engineering Sciences (2005), a Masters in Microbial Geochemistry (2010), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering (2014) all from Harvard University, where she also lectured as a Teaching Fellow.
