Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
I am a population ecologist interested in the application of statistical methods to study the dynamics of animal populations, particularly birds on island ecosystems. Have a doctorate degree from the University of Maryland, over 25 years of experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean.,and over 30 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.
I have various ongoing projects, including monitoring and modeling of population dynamics of pigeons and doves in Puerto Rico, as well as parrots and other birds in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Bonaire.
