Welcome to CienciaPR, an expert and resource network for all who are interested in science and Puerto Rico.
Hi there, my name is Edgardo Rivera I am an alumni from the biotechnology program at the CAAM. Besides my research projects in the biomedical field I hold special interest in three other areas of science. The first area is manipulation of genetic regulation mechanisms in bacteria for the production of novel compounds, the creation of synthetic circuits and or systems. The second being math and science teaching and improvement. And the third city planning and reconstruction based on cradle to cradle design.
I am a graduate student at the Biomedical Engineering department at Case Western Reserve University working in Horst von Recum lab. My research project is focused in the molecular imaging of mice E14 embryonic stem cells for endothelial specific differentiation. I am also working on a project on drug delivery for long term controlled realease of different antiangiogenic compounds to treat Prostate Cancer and BPH.
