Jaime Santiago PhD, Professional Bio-sketch
Jaime Santiago is an experienced project manager & information technology professional. He worked for the late Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Aguadilla Manufacturing Plant. While in DEC, he was part of the new product teams that introduced the manufacturing of products and technologies such as high-end Switching Power Supplies, mid-sized computer systems, and computer-based manufacturing test equipment. As a Training Center Instructor, he strategized and managed the implementation of training projects in the areas of Computer Operating Systems, Process Management, Analog and Digital electronics training courses and the implementation of the Six Sigma program in the Aguadilla manufacturing plant during the late 80’s and early 90’s. After DEC left the island, he worked as an Information System Consultant for the Research Institute (a federally funded social research institute within ASSMCA) and the “Universidad Central del Caribe”, school of medicine in Bayamon. He implemented projects in networking, innovative information technology-based systems and processes used in social research programs, in addition to personnel technical training and clinical research programs technology proposal writing. He also worked for TV Station WLII as the IT Manager, now Univision PR supporting the Univision Inc. MIS group. In WLII, he implemented several IT related projects, migrated applications to the client/server computing model including the migration of standard telecommunications voice systems to computer-based platforms, and the implementation of digital workflows for station operations. Day to day responsibilities included the support of IT needs for local station sponsored TV productions and Broadcast Engineering digital workflow operations, in addition to personnel training on technical subjects and to serve as management counselor on technology strategic initiatives. Jaime is a faculty member for “Universidad Ana G. Mendez (UAGM)” Puerto Rico, teaching graduate level courses in Business Administration/Operations and Project Management at different campuses for the AHORA Graduate level program and Online Faculty for National University College Business School programs. He is also a Professional Lecturer, Training Instructor, and Management Consultant on Information Technology, Renewable Energy, Strategic Management, Business Analysis, and Project Management subjects delivering lectures, seminars, workshops, and talks to both public and private institutions.
Jaime has a PhD-BA/eCommerce from Northcentral University (Delta-Mu-Delta Honor Society), an MBA/eBusiness from Phoenix University Puerto Rico Campus, a BA in Psychology from the Interamerican University San German Campus, an Associate Degree in Criminology from Caribbean Detective Academy, Mayaguez; and an Associate Degree in Programming from the Electronic Data Processing College, San Sebastian Campus. In addition, Jaime is a Senior IEEE member, PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and the first PMI member in Puerto Rico to receive PMI-PBA (PMI Professional in Business Analysis) certification. He holds professional certificates in Conflict Mediation from the University of Puerto Rico, Arbitration from the University College of Professional Mediation of Puerto Rico, Renewable Energy Systems from Frostburg State University (Maryland), International Commerce from the Small Business Technology and Development Center, Interamerican University Puerto Rico, Geographical Information Systems Implementation and Management from the University of Puerto Rico, Homeland Security from American University Puerto Rico, Architecture and Systems Engineering: Models and Methods to Manage Complex Systems from the MIT School of Systems Engineering and Architecture, and several other certificates in Data Analytics and Cybersecurity from MIT Professional Education. Jaime currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert volunteer reviewer for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate of Engineering/IIP for Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (SBIR/STTR) phase I - II grants and had served in the Partnership for Innovation: Advancing Innovation Research (PFI:AIR) programs. He also served as a Subject Matter Expert presentations and workshops proposal reviewer for the PMI Global Congress 2017-2020, PMI EMEA 2018 Congress, System Dynamics Society 36th 2018 International Conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, and for the United States Department of Commerce in 2009 for the first round of funding for the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program under the sponsorship of the United States Department of Commerce. He currently serves a two-year PMI Education Foundation appointment (2018 – 2020, PMIeF) to the Faculty-contributed Resource Reviewer Committee as Subject Matter Expert reviewer and a 3 month appointment (May – July 2019) to the PMI Sponsored Research Program 2019 (SRP) pre-proposals reviewer. He is a SCORE Mentor, and Chair of the Education Committee for the SCORE Puerto Rico Chapter.
