I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I completed a B.S. in biology in 2003 at UPR-Mayaguez. In 2009 I obtained my PhD in Biophysics from Vanderbilt University. My thesis focused on determining 3D structures of macromolecules by electron cryo-microscopy. I finished a postdoctoral fellowship in biochemistry and NMR at The University of Western Ontario in the summer of 2011. After working as a staff scientist in cryoEM at the New York Structural Biology Center, I joined my graduate alma mater to manage the cryoEM facility. Currently I work as a Facility Manager for electron microscopy at Cornell University.
